The dangers of going ‘Public’
There are times at conferences and on blogs that people reveal things that would be better left unsaid. Some trade secrets are secrets for a reason, and putting it out there for the world (including Google) to see could damage yours and the industries reputation.
Your reputation follows you
Once you have a bad name in the industry and with Google, it can be very difficult to rebuild, even when you have people to advocate for you.
Desire for fame vs common sense
Over-enthusiasm when starting out can also haunt you, and it’s important for people new to the industry to not trip over their own feet to try and garner attention.
