This week, Cyrus takes a look at optimization and creation in the SEO process. In the beginning, simplistic SEO methods, like optimising title tags, may have worked really well. Once that benefits of these simple methods start to wear off, you have two choices – over optimise, or create new content.
Over-optimisation (Low ROI)
Keyword stuffing of text, images, title tags, URLs and Inbound anchor text.
Link profile – administrative links, low quality and directories, and unbalanced profiles.
New content (High ROI)
Create a content calendar – make a schedule, and stick with it.
Increase your long tail opportunities.
Create new freshness, where you can link to old content.
- If you can create new content, make it content people will want to link to.
