Writing long reports don’t help get stuff done. Instead, replace the report with convincing the stakeholder of what needs to happen and how to do it.


Make things actionable, and understand the existing processes. If you don’t understand how things are working, you can’t modify it to suit the client.


Warn the client about what things you will be looking at and doing. This will allow them time to prepare for the changes and let you know if the changes are possible or impossible.


Businesses are run by people. If people like you, they are more likely to help you make changes happen. Communicate with people to help make changes happen.
